Madigan Wins $6.8 Million Drug-pricing Settlement with Baxter

Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan today said her office has won a $6.8 million settlement with Deerfield-based medical product giant Baxter International Inc., which had been accused of inflating prices of drugs used by poor patients to the state of Illinois.

Madigan filed a 2005 lawsuit against Baxter and other drugmakers, alleging the companies used practices that manipulated average wholesale prices of many prescription drugs.
