Margaret O'Connor is an associate in the firm's Litigation group.  Ms. O'Connor focuses on complex commercial disputes.  She has experience handling all aspects of pleading, motion practice, and discovery, as well as trial preparation, mediation, and settlement conferences. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, primarily in immigration law matters, and is a member of the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC)'s Junior Leadership Board.  She was named a "Rising Star" at NIJC's 20th Annual Human Rights Awards 2019. Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn, Ms. O'Connor practiced in Chicago for Dechert LLP, representing private and public entities in complex commercial litigation.

Ms. O'Connor is admitted to practice in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.  She earned her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where she served as President of the Chicago Law Foundation.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, magna cum laude, from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a minor in Spanish.
