The case could clarify that whistleblowers have as much time as the government to file False Claims Act cases, resulting in&nbsp;increased damage awards that would be paid by government contractors.&nbsp;

That more generous statute of limitations standard was recently adopted by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit to revive an Iraq contract fraud case. &nbsp;"Since the statute's purpose is to empower whistleblowers to vindicate the government's rights, the Supreme Court will follow the Eleventh Circuit's approach," Chizewer said.&nbsp;
