David Chizewer, a principal in the firm's Litigation Group, was quoted in the March 2013 issue of Chicago Lawyer Magazine. The article, entitled "Niche Practices Play Big Role in Midsize Strategy," focuses on how midsize law firms develop niche practice areas which in turn helps to grow the overall firm business.
Chizewer spoke about how winning the largest judgment ever in a False Claims Act case, $335 million for United States of America ex. rel. Cleveland A. Tyson, et al. v. Amerigroup Corporation, et al, allowed him to grow the firm's contingency fee, plaintiff-side practice- which now accounts for 70 percent of his time. "It was a tremendous return on the investment," Chizewer said. "And even before we won, we were hoping that we would get a good enough result that would justify our continuing on this practice area."
