Overview

Joseph Hoolihan is an Associate in the firm's Litigation group. He represents clients in commercial disputes involving breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, fraud, intellectual property, and False Claims Act matters. Joe handles all aspects of pleadings, motion practice and discovery. He is also experienced in handling trial preparation, arbitration, mediation and settlement conferences.

Among his accolades, Joe has been recognized in the 2024 and 2023 editions of "The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch" publication in the area of Commercial Litigation.

Professional Background

He joined Goldberg Kohn in 2017, and is a member of the firm's Associate Task Force and the Recruiting and Associate Business Development committees. Prior to joining the firm, Joe was an associate with a large, national law firm. He also served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Marvin Aspen, former Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, a role where he gained practical experience researching and drafting memoranda on a variety of litigation issues, and observed jury and bench trials, oral arguments, motion calls and sentencing hearings.

While attending Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, he was a member of the school's Bartlit Center Trial Team and competed nationally against some of the best student advocates in the country.
