Principal attorney, David Chizewer recently explored taxpayer fraud hot topics and trends of 2020 at the Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (TAFEF) 20th Annual Conference.
In the “Hot Topics and Trends of 2020” panel, David joined attorney Erica Blachman Hitchings of Whistleblower Law Collective and Jamie Yavelberg, Director of the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division, Fraud Section, Washington, DC to cover topics such as:
- Emerging fraud schemes involving COVID-19 relief funds
- Government motions to dismiss
- Litigation financing
- Potential amendments to the False Claims Act amendments
Founded in 1986, TAFEF aims to combat fraud against the government, provide crucial training and educational resources, give a voice to whistleblowers and protect taxpayer funds through private-public partnerships.
